After 35 years of life, I have a few things to say.

Category Archives: College

My wife and I have been married for almost seven and a half years now. It seems like it was just yesterday we were saying “I have, I have, I do, I do.” Wow, time does fly when you are having fun, and boy have we had some fun over the years. Our love of the outdoors, from camping to hiking, kayaking and traveling, there is no end to the fun we come up with. And the best part about it is that we have many many years ahead of us to enjoy time together.

This month is also my 10th Anniversary at my job. I was hired while I was going to school back in 2003, and here I am over 11 years later (I was laid off for a years or so), working in a different building and different department, with a different job title, and I’m back in school too. That’s strange. When I got hired, I was going to school at Guilford Technical Community College for Aviation management, specializing in Air Traffic Control. Ten years later, I am working full time in a field of IC wafer reticle design layout and going to school part time at University of NC At Greensboro for a BS in Computer Science. It’s amazing how things change in 10 years. I feel that I am in a very good place right now. Good job, great marriage and family, and I am in the process of getting in the best shape of my life. I’m swimming, biking, and running, and I am signed up for my first Sprint Triathlon in April. It’s going to be a great year. Now if we can just get this winter weather to go away, that would be great. 🙂

I just started writing again a few weeks ago and to my amazement, you are enjoying my thoughts in print. I decided to expand my operation so that more people get an opportunity to see my work. I am very new to blogging and I didn’t know how to get the word out about my posts except for adding tags, and posting a link to my blog on Facebook. My Facebook friends like my posts and leave comments on Facebook, but they don’t have a way to follow me here since most of them are not bloggers. Well, I finally took some steps to break through some barriers. I’m not sure how it will help, as this is my first post since. We will see. What I did was finally link this blog to my Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter accounts. My hope is to reach more people so that they can benefit from my writings.

Now that my experiment has been explained, probably making me look very foolish to you guys who have been blogging for years, I will give you some of my recent news. School is back in session as of last Monday and this semester, I am registered for 2 classes, both online, and both general electives. Since i work full time, I need evening classes, but there were none offered for the classes I need in my major. So Computer Science classes will have to wait until next semester. This semester, in the interest of knocking out some of my Gen Ed requirements, I am taking a Philosophy class in Practical Reasoning with an Intensive Writing Marker. This means that not only will I be writing blogs regularly here, but I will also be writing papers every two weeks on the Scientific Method approach for solving problems and analyzing data. This is going to be a fun class for me. I am also taking a German Literature class, taught in English, on the Middle Age German Writers and their historic impact on the country. This will give me a chance to learn about the German society, as I have already taken 2 semesters of the German language. My family ancestry is also partly German, so that strikes my interest as well. It’s going to be an eye opening semester.

I know this is a short entry tonight, but I am going to stop here because I an ancious to see how all this account linking is going to work. Please stay tuned and I promise to write again soon. Have a great start to your week everyone.

Goodnight.
