For me, camping and writing go hand in hand. One of the reasons I don’t post much is because at home, life is too busy it seems. Between work and family, the gym and playing with the pets, it is hard to find time to watch some TV, or to write. There are just not enough hours in the day. I know I should make time though, and camping is the perfect time, place, and atmosphere to start again. It’s quiet, with only the sound of birds singing. It’s peaceful, so I can think about what I am doing. There are hardly any distractions, with the exception of a few dogs barking on occasion, mine included. The sunlight is sprinkling on me through the leaves in the trees. The smell is of fresh air, pollen-free finally, thanks to the rain recently. The only down side right this moment is that when I finally want to write, my laptop is at home. Go figure. So I sit here in front of a smoldering fire pit in a folding camp chair, IPhone in hand, expressing this post, one thumb click at a time. Not the fastest way to get my words out, but at least I have a way, and a signal to broadcast. So let this be my new beginning, once again. Back on the horse. And pray with me, that once I get home, my fingers will find their place on the keyboard where they belong and my thumbs can have a rest. Let this be the start of my new streak, where there is time to think and write, and the words find their way to the page once again.
Talk to you again soon.
I just started writing again a few weeks ago and to my amazement, you are enjoying my thoughts in print. I decided to expand my operation so that more people get an opportunity to see my work. I am very new to blogging and I didn’t know how to get the word out about my posts except for adding tags, and posting a link to my blog on Facebook. My Facebook friends like my posts and leave comments on Facebook, but they don’t have a way to follow me here since most of them are not bloggers. Well, I finally took some steps to break through some barriers. I’m not sure how it will help, as this is my first post since. We will see. What I did was finally link this blog to my Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter accounts. My hope is to reach more people so that they can benefit from my writings.
Now that my experiment has been explained, probably making me look very foolish to you guys who have been blogging for years, I will give you some of my recent news. School is back in session as of last Monday and this semester, I am registered for 2 classes, both online, and both general electives. Since i work full time, I need evening classes, but there were none offered for the classes I need in my major. So Computer Science classes will have to wait until next semester. This semester, in the interest of knocking out some of my Gen Ed requirements, I am taking a Philosophy class in Practical Reasoning with an Intensive Writing Marker. This means that not only will I be writing blogs regularly here, but I will also be writing papers every two weeks on the Scientific Method approach for solving problems and analyzing data. This is going to be a fun class for me. I am also taking a German Literature class, taught in English, on the Middle Age German Writers and their historic impact on the country. This will give me a chance to learn about the German society, as I have already taken 2 semesters of the German language. My family ancestry is also partly German, so that strikes my interest as well. It’s going to be an eye opening semester.
I know this is a short entry tonight, but I am going to stop here because I an ancious to see how all this account linking is going to work. Please stay tuned and I promise to write again soon. Have a great start to your week everyone.
